Freelance Dark Side

I was not comfortable for couple of days because of some freelance issues. I was not paid for doing web works online. This maybe the dark side of freelancing, there is no assurance that you will be paid for the service you rendered. But I am not saying that you have to collect first the payments before doing freelance job or else you will not have a project for the rest of your life. I will just call him “Mr. Shit“, I already sent him the report and the project for couple of days already but he did not reply. Before completing the task I ask him if I am doing right- according to his specification and he said, “You are doing great”.

100 Important Tips for Google Adsense

Webmasters everywhere can participate in Google AdSense programme where Google will serve advertisements on the webmasters’ sites in exchange for some payment. If you are a webmaster and have not put AdSense, consider to do so.
1. AdSense Earning = Impression-count x Click-though-rate x Cost-per-click x smart-pricing-factor.
2. Impression count is basically referring to your traffic. It means the number of times AdSense block is displayed.

What Is AdSense Clickbot (a.k.a Automated AdSense Clicker)?

Note: I do not condone or encourage cheating on Google AdSense or any advertiser network. This article is indeed written to show why you should NOT use clickbot. If you want to increase your earning, there are legal and easier ways. Read 100 Google AdSense Tips.

Apparently, for some reason, it is not easy to find information about clickbots from the Internet. I need to dig a bit into Google cache to get some decent information. At the time I’m writing this, even Wikipedia does not have an entry specially for “clickbot” yet. The nearest term from Wikipedia is “Internet Bot”.

A bot is common parlance on the Internet for a software program that is a software agent. A Bot interacts with other network services intended for people as if it were a real person. One typical use of bots is to gather information. The term is derived from the word “robot,” reflecting the autonomous character in the “virtual robot”-ness of the concept.

Put simply, clickbot is a specialized bot made to simulate clicking. Initially popular for gaming cheat, now clickbot has taken the highlight in pay-per-click advertisement business. In 2004, a California man created a clickbot that he claimed cannot be detected by Google. Failed to make good money selling the program, he tried to blackmail Google for $150,000 to hand over the program. He was arrested, nonetheless.

For computer savvy users, creating a clickbot is very simple and straight forward. You just need a macro to record your activities. While the macro is recoding, you visit your own site and click on the ads. Save the macro, and then let it run. Of course, you will also need a list of proxies to cover your track.

Fortunately for advertisers and honest publishers, Google is not stupid. With the huge amount of data that it has, Google can easily compile the most comprehensive proxy list on earth. In the AdSense report, clicks from proxies will add up to the number of clicks, but no money is credited to the earning. As you guess, when the proxy clicks exceed a certain number, your AdSense account is disabled.

Organised crimes handle this by having the clickbot software on many computers around the world, each with their own Internet Service Provider. Some of these software may be installed without the computer owners’ permissions or knowledge, via trojans and viruses. Or it might be installed voluntarily by the click-network members.

Beginning of this year, Greg Boser from WebGuerilla did an experiment to test the extent of click-fraud by using clickbot, with no conclusive answer. Some experts claims that click fraud accounts for up to 20% of the clicks, generating more than $1 billion in a year.

Whether or not the estimation is correct, one thing is sure. Google, Yahoo and other big players in the PPC advertising business takes click-fraud very seriously, and it will be just a matter of time when fraudsters are caught.

Why You Shouldn’t Cheat AdSense

If you applied for AdSense account with intention to cheat and earn fast bucks, I hope by now you have understood that you shouldn’t.

Why? You say. Google is so rich, losing some pennies won’t 4f8 hurt.

Well. Probably. But when I say you shouldn’t, trust me. You really shouldn’t. These are just some reasons:

1. You can’t cheat Google

Every once in while, someone will comes out with ingenious idea of how to get more money from AdSense in less than honorable ways. He will announce to the whole world, posting in every forum and tell people how smart he is. His idea is always untraceable by Google, it is always original, and it always gives easy money.

What he doesn’t know is, few months after that, he will get caught by Google, always. And his AdSense account will be disabled. Always. And he is banned from ever applying for AdSense account again. Always.

Google is a giant, with 2005 revenue of almost US$ 10 billions, and profits of more than US$ 1 billion. A large chunk of this comes from Adwords / AdSense advertisements.

More click fraud means less trust, less advertisers and less money, to the extent that if unsolved it will bring collapse to pay-per-click advertisement business. Now. Do you think Google will let yo 4ce u jeopardize their billion dollar business model?

They have money and ability to bring together many of the the smartest and brightest engineers and scientists on earth, has been doing that and will continue to do so. How smart do you think you are that you can outsmart collaborative effort of the brightest brains?

You might be able to pull through for two or three months, but eventually the fraud detection algorithm will catch up and you are caught. And you get banned from Google AdSense, among other things.

2. Cheating = stealing

No matter how you want to justify, face it, cheating is stealing. You are not only stealing from Google, but also from Adwords publishers. Majority of these are are not big companies, but small webmasters depending on Internet to make a living.

Moreover, even if your morality (or lack thereof) permits stealing from your own fellow, bear in mind that stealing is illegal. Regardless of whether it is done offline or online, a crime is a crime. You might get jailed for that.

In fact, Google has started to bring AdSense fraudsters to court a few months ago. Some were jailed, and some others were fined heavily.

3. It 4e5 is just too easy to earn more, legally

Let’s say you managed to cheat AdSense undetected. You don’t use clickbot or proxy or click-ring or paid clickers. You managed to somehow get the clicks from distributed IP. You don’t use pop-ups, spyware, adware. You are careful that your CTR does not exceed 10%. Still, your earning is limited. There is a cap you can’t cross, else you will invite unwanted attention to your account.

With so much effort to cover your traces, actually you will get better result if you concentrate your effort to improve the website.

Write more contents, submit articles, improve on your search engine optimisation, improve adsense placement, and you can get the same earning or even more. Sure it will take some time, but this is legitimate.

Making easy money from your blog

First off, please excuse the title, contrary to what it says, there’s no such thing as making easy money from your blog.
It takes hard work, diligence and patience to be a successful blogger. Some may say being lucky plays an important role too. But luck is the sense to recognize an opportunity and the ability to take advantage of it.
Back to the easy money part, Andrew Johnson of Web Publishing Blog writes
If you are in this game for the long term, don’t do dumb things today for easy money. The most obvious example are the people that click on their own Adsense ads. Easy money, right? Click, click, click, cha-ching.
Why would you want to exchange your status at Google for a few hundred dollars (if even that much)? A year from now your site could be making $100 a day and sending real people to advertisers.
Take bloggers who promote low-quality clickbank garbage, as an example. They are exchanging their name and reputation for some quick cash. Are a few thousand dollars this month really worth six figure opportunities next year?
If you are beginning your online journey it may difficult to see the road ahead of you. Along the way there will be short term, fast cash for you to chase after. Sometimes it will be the result of your hard work. Just pause and make sure that the money isn’t costing you, or your website, long term revenue.
That’s a good question to ask ourselves that would keep us grounded. Don’t gamble our future potential revenue for a quick buck.

The Single Agreement of Adsense Arbitrage

When starting out in any business there are agreements to be made. Many of these agreements are with the banks, suppliers and even partners. With each contract you sign you are making an agreement with someone or some entity.

The agreement that so many of us fail to make is with ourselves. There is no written contract, no formal interaction and no applications to fill in, yet it is the most important agreement you will make. And for that matter stick to.

Failure keeping to this agreement will quickly lead to an unsuccessful venture, wasted money, not to mention wasted opportunities. It puts strain on your personal and business relationships many times ending in the outcome you never wanted. This holds true for any business you wish to venture into.

Adsense arbitrage will only be profitable when these guidelines are followed.

Keyword research is of utmost importance.

Finding the right keywords is not an art; it is a system of elimination by checking and cross checking. Run the keywords through the keyword tools available to you, and do not forget the Overture bid tool. With the proper research done, determining the keywords you want to target, you have already reached the half way mark. The keywords you choose are the determining factor to the success or failure of the arbitrage site.

Writing and creating your own unique content.

The reason for using your own content is simply that it is unique. Quality content will increase your overall quality score and ensure that your pages will receive the lowest cost per click and you will display the correct targeted ads related to the search of the visitor clicking your link.

Not only is your own content of value to the search engine, it also enhances the experience of the visitor landing on your site making them feel like their search has brought them a positive result.

Testing and monitoring the progress of every site you launch.

Testing your site to make sure that you optimized for the correct keywords and that the correct related ads on your site are showing will increase your earnings substantially.

Take control of your site and check your statistics regularly. By making use of ad groups and tracing your results you will soon be able to determine which keywords are profitable and which ones are just costing you money. With this information it becomes easy to make the necessary changes to ensure long term profitability.

So what is the agreement you have to make with yourself to be successful at adsense arbitrage?

One simple little word that so many people have so little of: time.

All of the elements you will need to succeed are going to require time, and at the beginning quite a lot of it. This is the one agreement you have to make with yourself and you have to keep to. There is no changing along the way, making different plans. Even though this agreement is not written on paper in any form, it is your agreement with the most important person in your life, you.

Without that you will not achieve anything or make any money for that matter. If you still believe in the autopilot on the internet, well there is also Santa Claus, the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny.

Yes, There Is Life Beyond Adsense

PPC (Pay Per Click) is one of the most common resources for monetizing domains.

There are many ppc programs. Among them is the most popular: Google Adsense.

But even though adsense is the king at the PPC industry, there are some things that you should care about.
You can get banned from adsense. That is a bad news. Even if you don´t break the the terms.
Yes. Even if you´re good guy. Someone could make compulsive clicks in your ads and you´re out.
Should i move from adsense? If your account is still alive, i don´t think so.

I think that every site owner needs to have alternatives. If you´re working with many affiliates programs, you´re ready if you loose one of them.

I like Domain Parking as an alternative. And you can use in your banned domains if banned from google, or in every domain you want.
Domain Parking is a way to monetize one (or many) not developed domains.

One of the greatest things of domain parking is that you don´t need to desing a site or build it´s content: it´s provided by the domain parking company.

Revenue will come from the clicks you receive in the ads that the parking company place in your domains.

Examples of domain parking companies are sedo, parked and namedrive.
But domain parking has it´s secrets. And if you don´t know them; you won´t make as much as if you know them.

Getting traffic in 48 hs. or less (without promotion) is one of the secrets of this industry that you should know. You can read them all in The Lazy Domainer.

It could take you 48 hs or less to make money with domain parking. So why not try it?

Google Adsense Best Ads Placement

There are lots of stratigies, and ways of thinking, and I guess all of them has been tried at some point, so why not learn from others experience?. Yes can choose to make a good web design and then blend in your ads so they dont bother your visitors, this may make your visitors stay longer on your site to enjoy the content. but the problem is how should you then get them to click?. I perfere to make advertisment boxes about the same color as my website and place them so they are a little in the way, yes it can bother the visitors but its all about exaggeration, making small ads in between text blocks wont get interested users confused but it would get not so interested users to click on your website ads.

Also i think its better to only place one ad on each web page, and not alot of small ones around on your site, I have too often seen how this can spoil a great web design. Now some of the best ways I have seen google ads being integrated into a website is when making a border around the ads with graphics (like making google ads look like a ”post it” sticky). This is smart and stands out, and gets users to look at them.

One think to remember is not to put ads at the bottom of your site if your site is long and visitors have to scroll down to see it. I think its a wast of time, because the people with the biggest chance of clicking ads are the ones not so interested in your website, and they may shut down your site even before scrolling down to see your ads.

Some other things you can do is to put images next to your google ads, as our eyes are attracted to images before text, but remember not to make it look like the image has relation to the text ads because google has strict rules about that, and you can get banned. A good tips could be to put at visible border around the google ads, to indicade that that ads are seperated from the image.

Warning.
Google has been integrating new video ads, and yes its a very good and effectiv idea, but keep in mind not that many companies have make video ads yet, because they are so new, this means that if you put on video ada on your site, your video ads may not be shown every time yet, because there is not ads for your theme. Or maybe it will just show some not related ads on your site as a random ad instead, and we know this will not attract nor interest many users.

How You Can Make Money With Google Adsense.

How you can make money with google adsense. its not as easy as you may think.

Google adsense is an great advertising program that can help you earn lots of money from advertising, if used the right way. Google adsense is a powerfull, intelligent and effectiv tool, it can even analyze your website content and from that create targeted advertising themes.

Adsense basically lets you put in small advertising boxes, text based or image ads, (now even also some video advertising) on your webpage. Google adsense can be found in many different shapes and sizes. Squres like 250 x 250, you bigger vertical sized ads to place at the top, buttom left or right.

Signing up for adsense is very easy, you just go to www.google.com/adsense and you will be guided through the whole signup thing. Once you get approved you can copy your adsense code into placement on your website, and you are ready to earn some money.

It works like this:
Lets say you got a website about dogs and dog training, then you can place an ad banner at the top of your page, or where ever you thing it fits best with your design. You can even costumize colors and text to fit your design best possible. Now google adsense may see your site and analyze it thinking okay, its about dogs, so we find some advertisment about dog food, or dog toys. At last just drive some traffic to your website, and then hope for some clicks, because its the clicks you get paid for.

One other thing I hear very often is, people being confused about why 1 click on your ads can give you 5$ and another click you only get 0.20 cents per click. I would like to explain this for those who dont know about it. Some keywords are worth more then others, depending on how popular the keyword is, lets say keywords like dogs, dog food etc. well my guess is this won’t get you as much money then pamela anderson.

Note: yes I know it sound easy, just get some traffic to your site, but I will recomment you to do some reading about search engine optimization also called SEO, and other traffic source ways to get some visitors. Also keep in mind that very few people can make a living just by making a website and get paid by adsense. I see google adsense as an extra income bonus, just try grabbing your calculator at calculate how many visitors you need every day and how few of them will click your ads, then estimate your adsense income from that. Not much but still better than nothing.

Blog Traffic For Beginners

Traffic is one of the reasons that keeps bloggers motivated. Traffic is so valuable that it could mean your blog’s failure without it. For those who have just started blogging, building traffic is the second priority next to building great contents. But how exactly can a beginner generate traffic to his or her blog?

There are three possible sources of traffic for any blogs namely; search engines, referrals from other websites/blogs and or paid traffic. For beginners, which among the possible blog traffic sources is ideal? To answer this question, let’s first have an overview of each traffic sources.

Traffic From Search Engines

Most of the traffic in the blogosphere is generated by search engines. Search engines like Google, Windows Live, Ask etc. are widely used by the netizens to search for specific information. Search engines when used refers websites or blogs that potentially contain the information being searched. Because of the significant roles of search engines in building traffic to a blog or website, search engine optimization became an important element in successful blogging.

Unfortunately, for those who have just started blogging, traffic from search engines will increase as soon as necessary search engine optimizations are implemented. Search engine optimization is a long process and it continues to evolve depending on the changes made by the search engines themselves. Search engine optimization will be thoroughly discussed in the succeeding posts.

Paid Traffic

For those who have the finance, paid traffic is a good and easy way to increase your blog’s traffic. However, since it’s paid, the cost increases depending on your traffic requirement. Adwords and Text Link Ads are some examples of companies that provides paid traffic services.

As beginners in blogging, I don’t encourage you to jump into buying traffic yet. Since your blog is relatively new, I assume that your blog has few content. I suggest that you build content for your blog first before you avail of any paid traffic services. This will ensure that your visitors will have sufficient articles to read when they visit your blog.

Working with Google and getting Google to Work for You!

This tutorial is very easy and very important. If you have been reading through my tutorials you know that you can earn a substantial amount of money with a google adsense account. But to do it you need to know some basic things. These basic things make all the difference in the world. (I mean stuff like where to place your google ads on the page and how not to violate the google terms of service).
Working With Google
As an adsense publisher for quite a while now I have established a bit of a relationship with Google. Not that I am special or something. I am still a small fish in a very big Google Ocean. But, they do send me enrollment requests when they give webinars for their products and services. These webinars are hosted by Google staff members and they are very informative. They also make me feel like part of the google team. In short, I like these webinars.
Maybe you don't yet get invitations to these webinars but you can watch and listen to them on your own whenever you want. The latest webinar was two days ago and it was all about what's new with Google adsense and it included information about Google Gadget Ads, Authentication and many other things.
I highly recommend you watch these webinars so you get a better understanding of how google works, what they want, and how to improve your revenue from them. Here is a link to the support center. Just do a search of "webinar" and the webinars will come up. Make time to do this!

Getting Google to Work for You!
If you have a website about a specific topic, hobby, or subject (Which you should) you are hopefully a bit of an expert on the topic and you probably spend time searching for material on the web about that subject.
The web grows every day and this causes a bit of a problem for you. How do you keep track on new stuff that is created? How do you find out about new web pages, blog posts or feeds that are about your subject of interest?
Well, you can put google to work for you on this very problem and you can do it extremely easily.
Google Alerts
Google Alerts is a very easy tool to sign up for. It puts the power of google behind you. Hey, nice to get them to work for you for a change!
What happens is that you tell google alerts what subject you are interested in and every day they will send you an email with whatever new stuff has come up about that subject. Very, very simple and very very powerful. You are taking advantage of the tremendous power of google and using it to your advantage.
Just go to the google alerts home page, select a search term, input your email then verify your email and you are done.
A bit of a warning! There is an enormous amount of material created every day and you should choose your search terms carefully and make them very focused. If you input something like "Paris Hilton" you are going to get an enormous amount of material (So enormous that it's probably of no use to you)
So focus your search term so you get high quality , up to date material.
Here is the sign up page: Google Alerts sign up

Affiliate Programs you can sign up for and earn money with

It is one of the big reasons why you have a website (to make money) of course you are also passionate about your site or blog and you reallly enjoy the work you do with it and the time you spend in it but when it comes down to brass tacks its got to earn its keep by putting the dollars in your purse of wallet. Simple as that. It's taking up your time and you deserve to be rewarded for that time - and in my opinion you deserve to be rewarded very well.
So here are some programs that I recommend that will monetize your site. All of them cost nothing yet pay out. And, every single one of them is a program that I am currently using. There is no speculation here. And I gotta tell you when it comes to associate programs there is a whole lot of speculation going on. And I have been in so many programs that I can't count them - Seriously. I have dropped out of quite a few programs for various reasons. These programs all earn and are all top notch. They will keep track of your clicks, your impressions and your earnings. And they will pay you. I stake my reputation on these.
I have an explanation of each program and what the company that sponsors it is about.

A Quick Note from Will: If you just started your website or blog I recommend you wait at least a month before signing up for these programs. And in that month you should be adding quality content as often as possible. When you sign up for a program they are going to take a look at your website to make sure it is real and to make sure it is earnest! It doesn't have to be beautiful, it just has to be of some value. So you need a month to get good stuff on your site. (or at least a couple of weeks if you are working hard on it!)
Google Adsense - This has the potential to be your fastest and biggest way to monetize your site or your blog. This program changed the world of online advertising with all those little ads you see everywhere. It is ubiquitous and rightly so. There are several different ways for you to use this program ranging from text ads to video ads and even product recommendations. The beauty of this program is that it reads your web pages, understands what it is about and then places ads that match the content. This way only ads that your web visitors will be interested in are displayed. Its very targeted marketing and very effective. Google Adsense Programs
Amazon Associates - This is the program that started it all. I signed up for this program a long time ago and I have never looked back. Everything on the amazon site is available for you to take a percentage of the sale of. Gotta get this one if there are relevant products for your subject. They have a wide arrange of tools available to you including text links, mini stores, favorites and well a whole lot more. Standard part of my daily routine is hunting for products my web vistors would like. Associate program
Netfirms Web Hosting - Solid and reliable company that I have been hosting with for a long time. They have a lot of great packages for webhosting including great entry level packages that start around five bucks a month. Seriously? Five bucks a month to get a website with generous benefits, bandwidth and more? Gotta get this one. Thier affiliate program pays you a percentage for each new member that signs up with them. Netfirms Hosting.
AllPosters.com - Posters are very big and they sell very well over the internet because customers can get a good look at the product before they buy. This company was one of the first to sell posters via the web and they know how to do it. They also have a very generous affiliate program which pays out a very high percentage. So if posters make sense in your subject you should sign up for this program. Sign up with AllPosters
Art.com - This is the sister to the allposters program. They are both run by the same company. But art.com is a little more upscale and they focus more on fine art prints. Still have an enormous selection. Same great payout as allposters and same reputation.
Linkshare - Linskhare is an umbrella type company that manages the affiliate programs for a lot of companies who don't have their own program. Linkshare gives you the tools, code, resources and tracking tools and offers you hundreds of companies to sign up for. They also issue the checks :). It's a great program that has been around a long time. If you have a niche subject and are looking for some specific type companies linkshare will probably have it. The have companies like Apple iTunes, Franklin Mint, Allzines (magazines), Musicnote.com, Netflix, Overstock.com, and literally hundreds of other high quality and established companies that you have heard of. Click on the banner to sign up.
ebay affiliate Program - ebay used to run all their affiliate stuff through a company called commission junction but they recently switched t their own in house affiliate program. ebay is another trusted company that you should consider signing up for. I really don't have to explain ebay to you. You know that just about anything in the world that can be sold is sold on ebay and you can take a percentage. ebay Partner Network
AWeber - This is an autoresponder, email and newsletter management company. If you are really serious about making your website successful you have to start some kind of a relationship with your web visitors. That relationship can come in the form of a newsletter, an ezine or a series of email correspondences with them. It is in this frequent contact with them that you build trust and build a relationship.

AWeber is perfect for this. You can set up a very easy form for web visitors to sign up for your newsletter or emails. You can then set up a series of emails to go out to your subscribers over time. You can also instantly send bulletins and emails to everyone on your list. There are lots more options and abilities. So if you want to build a list (Which is the best way to really achieve big time success with a website then you should get an autoresponder. AWeber is perfect for this. Their affiliate program affords you the ability to make money when other people sign up with them.
Chitika - They offer a large suite of programs to help you earn money with a website or blog. These include mini-malls, shopping links and shopping clouds. Interesting program and I have looked into it but am not currently active with it. Check out Chitika here

How to Monetize your Blog with Adsense

If you have a wordpress blog there are some real easy ways to insert adsense code into the blog automatically. There are at least two dozen different Plugins that will do this for you. The great thing about this is that it is a set it and forget it kind of thing. Once you install and activate the plug in you don't have to do anything else.
I have multiple blogs and I use a lot of different techniques for inserting adsense ads, this is because I am doing testing to improve their performance.
I recommend you start with a great plugin called All in One Adsense and YPN! This will automatically insert your adcode from both the google and Yahoo networks. And it has a lot of different options which makes it very flexible.
Here are some of the options you can choose from with this wordpress plugin:
• text ads, image ads, both
• sizes: 125x125, 180x150, 120x240 and 5 more sizes
• Color picker to customize the color
• rounded or square corners
• Number of ads to show per page
• Ad Position: exact location defined or it can be set to random
• google adtest=on which is great for insuring you don't click on your own ads
• Dont show ads when your computer is on the blog (prevents accidental clicks)
Another nice thing about this plugin is that you can tell the plugin to not insert ad code into a blogpost by simply typing in the post
Here is the link to the plugin: All in One Adsense and YPN

If you never installed a plugin this is a simple overview that will help
You download the file then unzip it; This creates a folder with several files in it.
Now you have to upload that folder, as is, to your blog in this location: "/wp-content/plugins/" That is a directory in your wordpress blog.
If you don't know how to upload this to your website you may need to get an ftp program. I have a full tutorial on how to do this here. You may also have the option of using your webhost control panel. Most webhosts have an FTP utility you can use to get files up to your website. You simply find the folder on your computer and upload it intact to the folder specified above.
Now Once you have the plugin uploaded you log into your blog and click the plugins tab. A new page shows up with all your plugins listed. Click on "Activate" for the All in One Adsense and YPN!.
Now you have to set up the new plugin so click on the Options Tab. then select "Adsense"
On this new screen you enter your adsense and or YPN code and select your options. It is all explained on the page.
Now take a look at you blog to see if everything is ok, and you are off to the races earning with adsense. And you don't have to think about it anymore! But I recommend you track it so you can make changes that will increase your effectiveness and earnings.
This plugin is pretty nice but there are lots of other plugins for adsense so browse through them and see if there are other ones that you would prefer to use. This one, however, is pretty simple and easy

Deep Links - 7 Effective Deep Linking Strategies to Increase Web Traffic

Deep Linking boosts your web site traffic by helping search engines spider the content on other pages besides your home page. This gives your site greater authority because you have related links pointing to these internal pages.
7 Effective Strategies to Build Deep Links

1. Deep links should only be 3 clicks away from the home page.
Search engines don’t spider web sites deeply so make sure visitors can access all pages within 3 clicks
from the home page. Visitors also don’t want to search throughout your site to find relevant information.
2. Create a site map page
The site map should contain all the links of your web site. Place the site map link on the home page and all other pages. This allows visitors to navigate your whole site from one page. Search engines spidering your home page will also spider all the links on the site map page.
3. Create a Google Site Map
This is an XML site map which is different to the html site map mentioned above. According to Google “Sitemaps provide additional information about your site to Google, complementing our normal methods of crawling the web. We expect they will help us crawl more of your site and in a more timely fashion, but we can’t guarantee that URLs from your Sitemap will be added to the Google index.”
The XML site map can include links, anchor information, page priority and how often your site changes. Click here to read more about Google Site Maps
4. Get relevant links from other web sites
If you find a information relevant to a specific page on your web site ask the site owner if they can link to that page. The best way to do this is to offer something of value in return. It may be a link from your own site, an article you’ve written or you can even offer to pay them for a link from their site to yours.
5. Write articles that target specific web pages
Write an article that focuses on the content of one of your web pages. Use the main keywords in your article title, content and the anchor text in your resource box. Submit your content to the top article directories. If many people publish the article you will receive many links pointing back to your web page. The more articles you generate the more links you’ll acquire.
6. Internal linking
When creating a new web page or blog post link to other pages that have related content. This will strengthen the authority of the page you are linking to and help it attain higher rankings.
7. Use the no follow tag to control deep links
You don’t need search engines to index irrelevant web pages such as your contact or privacy policy pages. It dilutes the authority of your web site. You only want Google to index pages that matter.
To stop Google from indexing irrelevant pages insert the no follow tag like this:

anchor
This will maximize the flow of link juice to your most important pages and minimizes (or eliminates) the flow of link juice to your least important pages. For more information read “Sculpting Your PageRank For Maximum SEO Impact”
Conclusion
Increasing the number and quality of links pointing to your internal pages will make it easier for search engines to spider your web site. This boosts web traffic and get visitors to stay longer on your site because of its in-depth content.

How to use search trends to make money blogging

One of the basics in network marketing success is the ability to track hottest online trends - popular terms searched by people.
• The art of optimizing your campaign due to the results of your research was always critical.
In our big world, billions of people are sending their search queries every second, while looking for updated information about topics like sex, money, investors, green world, energy conversion and people finder.
• In the past, people who were typing the word "money" were looking for results provided by search engines.
While several years ago most search results were irrelevant for the search goals, today the same person while typing - "how can I get more money without getting out of my place" expects to get the correct answer to his questions...

Due to the technology development and Google on top grading, people are looking for everything which could be the correct answer to their questions - where can you find a friend from school, what is the phone number of the CEO of a certain company you want to be employed and where does it located. (with the help of tools like Google)

One popular trend is joining a group of people with a common denominator.
Social bookmarking companies like Facebook, Google groups, yahoo groups, bebo, shmooze (for the jewish people) and Blackplanet.com may help you on finding the best group to join.
You don't even have to be smart or funny, You should not change your way of thinking, but it might be easier for you if you would share same values to be accepted as a group member.

Other people keep searching for information about famous or rich celeb to mail the gleaned information to friends, while others just want to browse hundreds pictures to find an interesting looking partner to talk to.

So it is very nice of great Google to provide us with the hottest trends and Zeitgeist to help us in understanding what people search for.

As an update from 11/6/08, Google trends has a new look and you can now see numbers on the graph download to a spreadsheet.

Yahoo buzz:
• With Yahoo buzz, you are having a great experience of getting updates on peoples most popular stories and top searches.
The chart is updated hourly, so you're having a great information on whats hot right now on the Internet as well as top global news.

Common searches:
• The most people common searches (from my research tools) are: first and last names, land and property, family, phone number address and email, car, video music and songs, company, career, offers, and of course everything related to sex.

Politicians, journalists, and business owners have come to realize the potential opportunities internet business blogging brings, and use it to stay in touch with their target audiences.
By providing a rich source of keywords in your posts, you can generate enormous amounts of traffic for your internet business blog and consequently your company. You can also create a number of different blogs and cross-link with a variety of different websites to create a viral effect that will generate even more hits and revenue. Individuals that visit blogs are those who have a specific interest in what your company has to offer. If your site proves to be useful, you'll gain trusting and loyal customers. As long as you keep it updated and interesting, people will place it in their favorites and frequently check it. This makes your 'make money blog' an ideal place to disseminate company news and new products and/or services your company will provide.
At the same time, don't load your page with useless information because this will result in a drop in credibility. Use relevant articles and interesting posts to keep your audience interested. Be sure to leave a space for commenting since this will be the most important role of your blog, allowing readers to comment and provide constructive criticism. Don't remove posts that don't praise your services. Instead, address these problems and let your readers know what measures you're taking to make your company better.
One final piece of advice is that you should always make a blog hosted on your own server because service providers are entitled to dropping your blog anytime they want to. This could be extremely dangerous since customers and readers will lose interest, and you will have wasted a lot of time.
Internet business blogs is really a straightforward idea that reaps many rewards. Internet business blogging can essentially give you 'make money blogs.'

How to Pick a Name for Your Blog - Don't Make This Mistake

In this article we are going to discuss the seemingly easy exercise of how to pick a name for your blog. In my experience, people fall into two separate but distinct camps here: Those that obsess about picking the proper name. and those who give it absolutely NO thought all all... Both approaches are fraught with their own problems, so let's take a quick look at how you can optimize your efforts when choosing a name! Read On....
Your Business is your baby....You Want to watch it Grow
Pick a name that you are going to be comfortable with down the road. Simply stated, if you are TRYING to build a site that you believe will endure, and be part and parcel of your financial future, picture what the site will "look" like 5 years from now and reverse engineer it back to today. Don't name it something that you will regret down the road, UNLESS you think this site is simply a test bed for bigger and better things (and strategies) you will be implementing as you learn.
The Devil is NOT in the details
I don't care how many "gurus" you've seen talk about the proper keyword density of the domain name, or how many 12 dollar eBooks you've purchased on domain naming....simply get the first part of the equation down, and PICK the name. I've worked with people who have spent two weeks trying to pick the "perfect" path to prosperity as denominated by their domain, and I can tell you without ANY equivocation, those are the people you know will never succeed. Prioritizing what is MOST important is a huge component of succeeding online, especially with a veritable cacophony of distractions and alternate routes to take on the road to riches. If you are getting distracted with the most minor of details...trust me when I tell you, this is NOT going to be the right business for you!
Remember - a good domain name is IMPORTANT. But focusing your energies and efforts on creating killer content is far MORE important..:-) So grab a good name, and get to work in a hurry...you'll be glad you did, I promise!
And STOP Looking for the Magical Solution Out "There".
Focus on the magic within. You have it, I know you do. We ALL do. The one certitude online is this: Content is king. And creativity is coveted. Show you have lots of both in areas that you care most about, and people will beat down your door to revel in it. They do for me, and I guarantee the same for you as well. Life is short, and the journey of 1000 miles begins with one simple step. What are you waiting for?

How to Get More Traffic to Your Blog

First of all, it's very important that your blog is meaningful and not some kind of repository of rehashed articles. I'm saying this because one of the best ways to attract visitors to your blog is if there's already heavy activity on the blog. This will have many implications: first of all, every time someone posts a comment on your blog, it is updated, and search engines usually favor sites with fresh content that is updated often. Second, it will encourage others to participate as well and come back frequently to see how others reacted to their comments or just to see how the conversation is evolving.
A good way to build interest to your blog is by posting on similar, yet more popular blogs related to yours, with a link to your blog of course. If you disagree with the blog's editor, don't be scared to start a flaming war, this might encourage the blog's editor to respond and other onlookers to visit your blog to read more of what you have to say. If you completely agree with the blog's editor and notice that there are occasional guest posters on the blog, try to contact the blogmaster to see if you can write a guest post for them.
Social networking sites such as Digg.com are also a great way to increase blog traffic. Digg works by users giving a thumbs up - a 'dig' - or a thumbs down to whatever they read online and on the Digg site itself. It's pretty much a way to rate different pages on the web so that the best stories get the most attention. If you want your site to rate high in Digg, there are a few things you have to know.
First of all, you have to write a meaningful and eye catching headline since it's the first thing you see before reading a post. Second of all, when you submit your post to Digg, make sure the description is meaningful and that you can get a sense of the post before reading it; nobody likes bad surprises and people are most likely to give your post a thumbs down if the description had nothing to do with the post. Make sure your first paragraph is good and that the rest of the article is meaningful as well, or else you'll run the risk of irritating your readers, get bad reviews for your posts, and get your site banned from social bookmarking sites; because social bookmarking sites tend to ban people who post junk all the time.
There are plenty of ways that you can attract more traffic to your blog and that was just a few of them. But keep in mind that even the best promoted blog will fail if it doesn't have good content.

Grow Your Own Top Home Business by Blogging Regularly - More Ideas

We've looked at setting up your site, and now we discuss tips for blogging twice a week to keep the content fresh. This is what the search engines are looking for.
Perhaps initially write a series of articles about the decision-making you went through, before finally making a start in your own home business. People looking to start their own home businesses will be interested to hear how you made your own personal decisions in selecting the type of home business which was best for you.
What was your original motivation to start working from home? Most people think about the idea often enough, but it's too easy to become trapped in the day to day routine of going to work, and surviving from one month-end to the next. Financial needs are amongst the most common reasons for wanting to leave your job, and to go it alone.
Personal circumstances are often a strong motivational factor, such as wanting to be able to spend more time with children, or to care for a parent who lives with you. Tell your readers openly why you made your decision, and relate the steps you took to get started, and whether this was part-time or full time.
It's a good idea to discuss the financial factors involved, and how you were able to cope financially, especially during the early stages. This type of discussion is of great value to a reader who is thinking of doing the same thing.
Another extremely useful discussion would be about managing children while working from home. Many home business owners have to wrestle with the problems of getting work done, while working from home and looking after children.
Above all, write from the heart. Share the problems you've experienced, and discuss the solutions you found for those problems. By now you will have worked out some sort of daily routine, so that there is adequate time for you to deal with business related issues, and still be able to have quality time with your family. How did you work this out?
Any personal achievement will call for some sacrifices to be made. An honest discussion about the compromises you've had to make in order to get started, makes a valuable insight for your readers.
Don't be afraid to admit that you made some mistakes along the way, but discuss how you realized what was wrong, and what steps you took to correct the problem. Again, some personal advice from the heart will be well received, and your readers will be grateful to you for sharing these with them, especially when you may then be able to help them avoid making the same mistakes!

Finding a Nice Topic For Your Blog - 6 Things to Consider

1 FIND YOUR PASSION!
One of the first things you should ask yourself is "Am I interested in this subject?" If you are intent on building an interesting blog, it can take a good length of time and you will have to have sufficient interest in the topic to keep writing about in the long term. If you don't have the interest or passion to believe that you can still be writing about it in 12 months time then perhaps you should think about looking for another idea? It has to be something you can sustain and something you can write about with passion. If you aren't passionate, it will show. There is a lot of money in the football niche, but as it's a topic I loathe with a passion, it probably wont be worth my getting a blog about it!

What are you passionate about? Write things down, do a bit of mindmapping, freewriting or whatever but just try and find what your interests are. This all starts with you!

2 IS IT POPULAR?
Is the topic one that others are interested in? It isn't enough to have a passion unfortunately, others need to share it with you or you just won't get the readership. Its fairly crucial that others want to read about the topic as well. You have to be aware that popularity changes over time, it ebbs and flows. Who would have wanted to read about something called an iphone a couple of years ago?

3 WHAT IS THE COMPETITION.IS THERE ANY?
The internet is an increasingly cluttered market. Statistics are showing a move away from traditional advertising techniques, such as tv and radio to the internet. There is a lot of big business out there, elbowing in! Avoid falling into the trap of following what everyone else is doing. If its popular, someone has got there first! That doesn't mean looking for markets that are unpopular, its a question of balance. If you go into a really popular market, look for a fresh angle on it. Always try and be a big fish in a small pond in the words of that old cliche.

It can be healthy to have competition. It shows that there is a market there. Too much competition can make your task an uphill battle, too little and you won't have any readership! However some of the most profitable niches are built around those topics that have little or no competition if its a topic that interests enough people. Have a look at what the competition isn't doing. Look for the gaps. Research and try and find a sub niche within a niche.

4 CONTENT
This goes back to your passion.Have you enough to keep writing and finding content? Is there enough in you? Do you know where to find other sources if you find yourself drying up? Content is king and in order to have a successful blog, you have to be prepared to write on what you know and research what you don't. Keep in touch with the world out there and subscribe to newsletters, forums and link to other blogs for your content. Keep an eye on the google world as well by looking at Google news amongst others. If you can write on "whats hot" you have a better chance of getting new readers and interesting the old ones!

5 CAN YOU MAKE MONEY?
This might not be your motivation in starting a blog. If it isn't then that's fine. Many bloggers are writing just for the passion of writing about what they love and have no interest in making any money from it but if you are thinking of starting a blog and monetizing it,you have to think about where it may make some money for you. If it is a motivation in starting a blog, consider whether it is a topic that has any earning potential. Will you be thinking of getting AdSense onto your blog, what affiliate programmes are there in the niche? What about looking at Amazon.com. There are a lot of ways of monetising your blog.

6 CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON
If you are really interested in starting to blog, get on and choose a topic. Don't spend months thinking about it, take action. Its unlikely that you will find the perfect answer. In reality there will be weaknesses in any approach, but if you don't get on with it make a decision and start blogging, you probably never will. Accept the inevitable, nothing is perfect. The only true answer is to get on with it, be aware of the weaknesses and work to avoid them or use them to your advantage if you can't. It is only by starting this process, that you can learn to "tweak" and learn to grow.

Making Money With Free Blogs - The Truth

As I mentioned before I had my short break away I have now been blogging for a full year. I have also reached a few conclusions about making money with free blogs.

Firstly, there is a lot of garbage written by some so called experts. They tell you, for instance, that it's necessary to have a proper domain name, a well designed website and that you have to spend money to succeed. They also spout lots of other rules about SEO, keywords and so on.

Okay some of these extras may be able to help you along the way but the reality is that you don't need all this - unless you particularly want to go down that route.

Like all 'experts' they like to mystify the subject they write about. It makes them sound all the more important when they use special abbreviations and dress up what they say in fancy words.
The truth about making money with blogging is in fact quite simple.

First it's about what you write. It doesn't have to be extra well written, it's just got to be either useful or entertaining. If you are lucky enough to be able to do both so much the better.

I was reading about Alice Cooper recently and, no, I'm not a fan! I am interested though in anyone who has been successful in any field. Anyway, Alice said that when he started out he was up against the likes of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Motown and so on. So he rehearsed. Nine-tenths of his time was devoted to songs and only one-tenth to his image.

In Cooper's words, "If you don't have good songs you're no more than a puppet show."

If you are talking about blogs you can substitute the word 'songs' for 'content'.

The right content solves nearly all of the problems that experts tell us that we'll have to overcome to make money with blogs. It really is that simple.

The other simple truth is: the more traffic you have the more money you'll make.

Yes, blogging is generally a numbers game. There are exceptions but I'll cover this another time.

When I was involved with network marketing I remember that when I joined Herbalife they told me: Talk to some people and you'll make some money, talk to lots of people and you'll make lots of money. I chose to make lots of money!

Dress things up however you want but making money is in relationship to the number of people you communicate with. With blogging these people are your traffic or hits.

The first two truths about making money blogging are therefore.

(1) You need useful or entertaining content and
(2) You need as much traffic as you can get.
11-Aug-2008Make Money With Lots Of Free BlogsFollowing my previous post I was asked: Isn't it better just to concentrate on one or two money making blogs than setting up lots of them? And how have you got the time to keep them all updated if you have lots?

I do concentrate mainly on a couple of blogs, for the biggest part of my blogging income, but I like to set up new blogs for fun, experiments and to make additional money. I must have well over thirty floating about in different places on the blogosphere.

If I can go back to yesterday's post and the example I gave of the new Helen Flanagan blog. What I will actually do, with this blog, is to try and keep it reasonably updated for about a month. I've so far done 28 posts in 22 days.

After a month, if everything has been done properly (keywords, images, titles etc), it should tick over virtually by itself. It will then only be necessary to do the occasional new post when there is some actual news about Helen - perhaps once a week or fortnight.

Now if you have several such blogs all ticking over, just being updated now and then, it's not a lot of work after the initial thrust of setting up the blog.

You wind them up and then let them go!

Some will perform better than others. Here's a couple of stat charts, for the last couple of weeks, showing the number of hits I've had on a couple of such blogs where I've followed this procedure.

Sometimes the blogs don't do this well. I've some that only get 10 or 20 hits a day. But, there again, some have done better.

If you have been reading Mike's Money Making Blog for a while you'll know that I believe, quite simply, that traffic = money.

And by this I mean any sort of traffic. I don't believe there is any bad traffic, just that some is better than others. Look at the major stores in town. What do most of them do? They run promotions to get people through their doors.

It's the same with blogging.

Going back to having lots of blogs. It's an accumulation thing: the total number of hits on all of the blogs combined. This is what makes money, providing they have been monetised properly.

You can work out the stats yourself. How many hits could you achieve with a number of blogs? Ask yourself if you think that the total traffic on these would outperform one blog. Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but I know what works for me.

Good luck,
Mike.

09-Aug-2008How To Get Search Engine Referrals With A New BlogI was asked: How long does it take before you are likely to get search engine referrals from Google on a new blog?

Answer: 5 days.

Well that's my experience when starting up a new blog.

However it all depends on several factors but these are what I consider to be the seven essential parts of my formula when starting a new money making blog:

(1) Subject matter (niche) of blog
As I keep saying you've got to give people what they want. If it's popular the subject will be searched for but if it's obscure it won't be. Follow the trends, things, subjects that are on the way up and don't plump for an already overcrowded market.

As an example, purely because I thought she could become popular and there weren't too many blogs already, I started a new blog on Helen Flanagan. She's a UK soap star that has just started to get noticed.

Just to clarify the blog was created purely to make money. I don't even watch the soap, Coronation Street, in which she plays the part of Rosie Webster.

I started the blog on the 19th of July and the first Google referrals were on the 23rd of July.

(2) Use of keywords
In the case of my example I used her name as keywords - obviously - and made sure this was in the title of each post and also in the first sentence.

I also used long tail keywords which I got from a Keywords suggestion Tool - see yesterday's post as an example.

(3) Use of images
As the niche was about a person this was quite easy. I made sure that the 'alt' description was always completed and included chosen keywords within this. It takes longer to get image referrals but, by including them within a post, it is building for future weeks.

(4) You must have inbound links
As I understand it, to get picked up by Google the blog has to have some inbound links. If you have more than one blog this is, of course, easy.

(5) Use Tags
Tags, or labels as Blogger calls them, are essential now when writing a post, some of which should be your chosen keywords.

(6) Write as many posts as possible in the first few days
Again this is something I've mentioned previously but the more you write the more keywords you'll have floating about.

If you have a lot of subject matter perhaps you can break this up into smaller segments (posts) instead of one whopper.

(7) Ping
I always ping every new post though some are done automatically, see Technorati for example. Also sites such as Ping-o-matic will ping several services on your behalf.

You can also add your URL to Google but I don't bother with this. I also don't use the websites that say they will submit your blogs etc to lots of search engines. I've tried these and frankly they are a waste of effort.

If you do the essentials blogs will get picked up by the search engines but Google is quickest off the mark. The Helen Flanagan blog has been up and running for 21 days and to date I've had 783 search engine referrals from Google plus 34 from Yahoo, 16 from AOL, 4 from AltaVista and 1 from Dogpile.

I'm sure that SEO experts may disagree with some of my 'seven essentials' but what I try to do, with Mike's Money Making Mission, is to write about what I've personally experienced and not theories.

I could have done better, with my newest blog, but my target was to get 1,500 hits in the first month. I've just checked and see I'm up to 1466 (2834 with reloads) in 21+ days so that's okay as far as I'm concerned

How to increase traffic by targeting your main keyword

If article marketing is not done correctly you won’t increase visitors to your web site. Some folks write articles without targeting a specific keyword or keyword phrase. The more tightly focused your article is the better your chances of receiving high rankings and getting more traffic.

The problem

Search engines don’t want to show duplicate content in their results pages. They want searches to be as targeted as possible. If you write your article based on your main keyword their is a greater chance of it being indexed by them.

How to target your best keywords

1. Create a list of your main keywords

Place yourself in your customers shoes for a few minutes and think what particular keywords they would enter in the search engines to find your web site. Keep adding to the list until you’ve exhausted all your ideas.

2. Use a keyword research tool

Open a free keyword research tool such as WordTracker or Keyword Discovery and enter each keyword from the list above. You’ll get a list of keyword results that show how
many times that word has been searched on in one month. Repeat this procedure for each keyword.

3. Select the long tail keywords

Keywords that receive the highest number of searches are generally the most popular. This makes it very difficult to rank high for these keywords. Select the keyword phrases with a low number of searches (long tail). These are less competitive so you’ll have a better chance of getting high rankings for your article.

4. Weave the targeted keyword phrase into your content

Include the keyword phrase naturally throughout your content. Don’t overdo it as it will look like spam and won’t read well for your visitors. Remember it’s more important to write your article so it appeals to your visitors than the search engines.

5. Include your keyword phrase in the title and resource box.

Place your keyword at the beginning of your article title like I’ve done for this article. Instead of writing:

“How to increase traffic by targeting your main keyword”

Write…

“Article Marketing - How to increase traffic by targeting your main keyword”

6. Include your keyword phrase in the anchor text

Anchor text are the words contained in your hyperlink. The resource box at the end of your article allows you to place anchor text in it that links back to your site. This not only directs visitors to your web site but builds valuable backlinks that help increase your rankings in the search engines

7. Include your keyword phrase in links pointing to your web site

When visiting blogs, forums or doing link exchanges be sure to include your keywords in the anchor text of your incoming links. Google ranks your web site according to the number and quality of links leading back to your site.
